In a playful manner, YUMA invites us for having a conversation. By sitting at the table the user enters into the table’s space. The user’s lower body dissolves symbolically in the decreasing transparency of the engraved glass.
The YUMA Table reveals its definition of a table - discovering its character through its glass tabletop.
The table consists of three elements. They not only interact with each other, but also reflect the surrounding space and recreate it.
The polished and adjustable aluminum feet shape the transition from the ground to the main frame. They reflect the environment and lead it inside the table.
The legs are made of triangular tubes. Their shape describes the space between the ground and the tabletop while visualizing the course of forces.
The engraved float glass tabletop defines the table’s visual mass center.
Sometimes space is not immediately recognizable as such. We have a seat at the table - eating, talking, debating and philosophizing. Our conversation creates its own space within the room.
The table is the stage.
